According to House of Reps caucus consisting of over 50 members drawn from across the country, the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 is the most audacious attempt to overhaul the petroleum sector, once bedevilled by controversies and uncertainties.  Hon. Seso Ikpagher (Benue APC) who disclosed  this ,described the PIA as the best thing to happen to Nigeria’s oil sector and one of the numerous reforms birthed by the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Engr. LAWMAKERS N160M EXOTIC CARS: THIS ADMINISTRATION HAS FAILED NIGERIANS - FADOJOE.

Image
The leader of Rescue The Vulnerable Initiative aka Rescue Movement For New Nigeria and former Labour Party presidential aspirant, Comrade Faduri Oluwadare Joseph aka Fadojoe, has decried the insensitivity of the Nigerian lawmakers over the purchase of exotic car at N160 million per lawmaker; at this time when the economy of the country is on free fall, that many civil servants can no longer feed their family due to ridiculously low earnings and ridiculously high cost of food, as well as the worst fuel situation due to the unguided announcement of subsidy removal without adequate preparation to cushion the effects. This he disclosed through his audio media chat with newsmen in Nigeria on Thursday October 19, 2023. EFCC Chairman: Olukoyede qualified, has experience ,capacity to fight endemic corruption - GGF

Image
Group under umbrella of  Good Governance Forum (GGF) said the protests trailing the appointment of Mr. Ola Olukoyede as the newly appointed Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission are unnecessary considering his experience and capacity. According to the group, those behind what was described  as 'frivolous protest'  over his qualification across the country have little or no knowledge about his experience in same EFCC. It would be recalled that President Tinubu announced the appointment of both Olukoyede and Hammajoda on Thursday, October 12, 2023. The appointment came four months after the suspension of the former EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa. However, members of the Centre for Democracy and Human Rights, on Tuesday, stormed premises of the National Assembly to kick against the choice of Olukoyede as EFCC chairman. The National Secretary of the Human  Rights group,Mr Adebayo Ogorry, during the protest, alleged that the choice of Olukoyede contrav

$350m Loan: I cautioned and opposed, attempts were made on my life - Shehu Sani

Image
When I cautioned and opposed the $350million World bank LOAN for Kaduna state, i was vilified, attacked and persecuted for Eight years, and even attempts were even made on my life. Kaduna borrowed $340 million when the value of the dollar was 400 naira. Now they have to pay with a naira value of 1000 Naira and counting. The so-called project financed by the loan cannot generate the revenue to pay the loan. The day of reckoning is here; the state is strangulated, suffocated, stagnated and stranded in Debt that it cannot pay. It’s the second most indebted state in the country after Lagos.  Lagos has a strong industrial, Banking, Commercial and maritime base to generate enough IGR to service their debt.  Most of the industries in Kaduna are dead. The lords of Loans are nowhere to be found. The people of the state are paying the price. For now let’s enjoy the music and the soup. Sen. Shehu sani.

Insecurity challenges: Bello El-Rufai Be Warned , Sidelining Gov. Uba Sani come with grace consequences

Image
By Comrade Musa Mohammed Hon. Bello El-Rufai deciding  to sideline Governor Uba Sani on issue of Insecurity' is evidently a bad step, which will definitely come with grave consequences.  I discovered lately how Bello wants to dictate what happens in Kaduna State. He now acts as a lawmaker on his own by refusing to interface with the Governor, which is most unfortunate. Apparently,Bello is beginning to exhibit the signs of " I'm an Island"; a legislature on his own  working outside his State Governor .The big question is why is it so?  For me , I think he's under the illusion that   Kaduna State is still controlled by his father, the former governor, therefore there is no need to consult with Governor Uba Sani before visiting the Chief of Defence Staff of Nigeria, General Christopher Gwabin Musa on the insecurity challenges. It was reliable gathered that Bello El-Rufai, on Tuesday visited the Chief of Defence Staff of Nigeria, General Christopher Gwabin

Rejoinder: Memo to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on NNPC

Image
To me, the above referred Memo sounds like the rumblings of a novice in the operations of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation that is now translated into the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), That the Petroleum Industrial Act (PIA), now guides the operations of the National Petroleum Company Limited is still not appreciated by some of our fellow Nigerian citizens is unfortunate.  Sponsored media columns with inept presentations on strategic national issues such as this, and placed in an online called Guardian Nigerian, should be encapsulated with adequate data, that is educative and  informative indices that the Nigerian populace and the oil industry can digest on where Mallam Mele Kyari lapses negatively affected the Nation’s crude oil production quota. In the first place, from the write- up, the reporter seems not to be in the know, on how NNPC operates. Else, he would have identified the operational deficiencies that led to the decline in Niger

Gen. Chris: The Last Phase'Hero of Heroes'

Image
BY COMRADE MUSA MOHAMMED A leader’s history of successes and failures makes a big difference in his credibility.  To build trust, a leader must exemplify these qualities: competence, connection and character. People will forgive occasional mistakes based on ability, especially if they can see that you’re still growing as anleader.  But they won’t trust someone who has slips in character. In that area, even occasional lapses are lethal. No leader can break trust with his people and expect to keep influencing them. Trust makes leadership possible.   General Christopher Gwabin Musa OFR, the 18th Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of Nigeria, who was appointed July 2023, galvanized himself and swung into action.  When he assumed duty, he started with an enduring philosophy and vision of an army which could inculcate the ideals of discipline, professionalism, esprit de corps and hard work, which his administration would instil and imbibe the ideals of a professionally responsive army
