SUMMIT ON GOOD GOVERNANCE HOLDS IN LAGOS,SPEAKER, OTHERS, FOR GLOBAL VARSITY AWARDS
As an annual event,the Strategic Leadership summit on good Governance in African Leadership will hold next month at the University of Lagos.
The program which is being packaged by Leadtimes Africa Magazine will attract
participation from captains of industries, state governors & their wives,state commissioners, secretaries to states' government, law makers, local government administrators,military and para-military personnels, professionals,traditional and religious leaders, NGOs, credible
politicians, among others.
In a press statement signed by Professor Buba S., Mshelia, co-covener of the program,he said, "few selected Nigerians professionals and business icons will be decorated with honorary doctorate degree awards by Highstone Global University, Texas, USA during the ceremony." The theme of this year's edition is titled:Promoting Integrity, Transparency and Accountability in African Leadership-Pathway to Sustainable Development in Africa.
Vincent Ezima,a veteran media Consultant and Public Speaker is expected to serve as guest lecturer at this epic occasion while Professor Gerald Ndubuisi Okeke, a certified Safety and Environmental specialist will serve as one of the guests of honour at the occasion. The Managing Director/CEO of PIE Management Technology and educational consultancy and Hajiya Dr. Aishatu Ngulde, former Executive Secretary of Borno State Education Endowment Funds will serve as Special guests respectively at the ceremony.
Ekiti State House of Assembly's Speaker,Hon.Adeoye Stephen Aribasoye is among the personalities to be honoured by Highstone Global University,Texas,USA come November.Others are State Commissioner for Information, Olatubosun Taiwo;General Manager of FIDSON Healthcare PLC, Mr Raphael Ajayi and the Group Managing Director/CEO of Dradrock Real Estate Limited,Mr Oladipo Idowu Agida and GMD/CEO of Carlcon Group,Mr.Chris Ndibe.
In a statement credited to Professor Buba S.Mshelia, "Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly,Rt.Hon.Adeoye Aribasoye has been nominated for this honor for his forthrightness and his purposeful leadership for quality service delivery.
At the sixth Assembly, he distinguished himself as Chief Whip and also as spokeperson of the House where he served as Chairman,House Committee on Media & Public Affairs.In all his activities in the house, he has remained very committed and has never been found wanting in the course of his service;even right from the day of his emergence as Speaker of the 7th Assembly, he reiterated his commitment to not only promoting peace and harmony between the legislative arms and the Executive but also to working assidiously with Governor Biodun Oyebanji to achieve his vision for the development of the state and keep Ekiti working towards the shared prosperity Agenda encapsulated in his six pillars for Ekiti Development ",the university don stated.
He further said, " Rt. Hon. Aribasoye could not have achieved all these without adherent to the virtues of integrity, transparency and accountability in his leadership disposition which he shared among his colleaques," Prof. Mshelia stressed. Others nominated for the award include the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Environment and his Transport counterparts, Hon Iselema Gbaranbiri and Hon. Grace Ekiotenne respectively.
Other professionals listed for the university honour also include the Managing Director/CEO of Fon Apple Integrated Services Limited,Mr. Onyemem Ndubuisi Frank; Mr Alhassan Muhammad of the office of Accountant General of Gombe State and the ICAN Chairman of Onitsha District,Mr Okeke Uchenna Emmanuel and Partner/Head of Training,Oak Interlink Company,Mr Ernest Ovie Shaka.
"This is our own little efforts to promote good governance in African leadership.At the occasion,HighSTONE Global University, Texas, USA will honour outstanding Nigerians with proven leadership qualities imbued with integrity, selfless service to humanity and those with track records for positive development in their local communities", professor Mshelia stated.
According to the University don, "this year's edition will hold at the University of Lagos early next month and the selections of honorary awardees is strictly based on merit, that is, the impact made by each individual in his local community and the character of such individual in his/her past and present leadership positions is measured by the award selections committee. Among other few nominees selected for the award include Barr. Eleso Damilola Moyosore who will bag degree in Communications and Creative Arts of the institution;the MD/CEO of Chrisantbeth Investment Ltd, Mrs Ahmed Lami Onayi, Engr. Akinola Akinsola, CEO, Soak Generator Company, High Chief Hon. Marcel Okoro, SA to IMO State Governor and Akinola Abolarinwa, MD/CEO of Blom Tech Infrastructural Limited and Mr.Harriman Aghogho of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission;Mrs Ijeoma Okikechi Chima of Abakaliki District office of ICAN; Managing Director/CEO of Gongoni Company Limited,Alhaji Abdullahi Halidu and a multi-talented business icon and Chief Executive Officer of Navitas Realities Limited,Mr Ibeh Damian-Mary Okezie and Mrs Franca Ijeoma Ikpe, Proprietress of De Great Graceville Schools,Ogun State, are all among the awardees of the Highstone Global university, Texas,USA.
Also at the occasion, an outstanding African business magnate and philanthropist, Engr. Dr. Abubakar Sadiq Mustapha, GMD/CEO of Trade and Tech Group will be conferred upon with the Prestigious Leadtimes Africa Businessman of the Year Award for his global business activities that has impacted so much on the Nigerian populace especially the Youth and his unparallel philanthropic gestures over the years through Youth empowerment programs and award of scholarships to the less privileged members of the society, among others. At the occasion, the Director General of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors Foundation, Dr Celestine N.
