NEW CUSTOMS AREA CONTROLLER KANO/JIGAWA COMMAND ASSURED STAKEHOLDERS/BUSINESS COMMUNITY FACILITATION OF LEGITIMATE TRADE
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kano/Jigawa Area Command, says it has generated more than N10 billion revenue into the coffers of the federal government which shows the Command activities at the free trade zone has been improved. The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Mohammed Abubakar Umar, said this at a news conference on Thursday in Kano. Umar said his Command generated N10.1 billion revenue within a short period of time. He said the command will continue to put in place necessary measures to improve on the collection so far with the support from other units of the service such as the CIU, CPU, FOU, Border Drill and Strike Force. "We shall maintain the success through synergy". "We will continue to dialogue, engage and educate the local and community on the security, health and economic implication of smuggling, while discharging our statutory responsibilities of enforcing compliance with the Government fiscal policies".
