Compt. SP Umar Bags Investigative Reportes Award, Describes As Icon of Societal Development



The association of Investigative Reportes and Africa Crime Reporters Association (ACRA), presented an award of excellence to the Customs Area Controller Kano/Jigawa Command Comptroller SP Umar.

The award ceremony took place at Customs kano/jigawa area command, in Kano yesterday.




The delegations of the investigative Reportes and Africa Crime Reporters Association said investigation conducted by team of journalists observed his tremendous success in his reforming agenda in Nigeria Customs service, in all where he worked or served.

"It was a clear testimony that he introduced new concept that brings about radical change in customs service".

"He has helped in significant role in customs service in the past and present".

"His contributions and achievements are Visible and laudable".

Responding, Compt. SP Umar expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the awards. 

He expressed delight for the award.

He said, "Iam quite humble by the award, considering the category of the award which is "ICON OF SOCIETAL DEVELOPMENT".

The Area Controller promised to double his efforts in discharging his duty.

Customs Kano/Jigawa, Dialogue With Stakeholders On The Collection Of 4% FOB

By Comrade Musa Mohammed  The Nigeria Customs Service Kano/Jigawa Area Command has held a stakeholders meeting on the collection of 4% Free On Board (FOB), insisting that the new revenue law was in the interest of all stakeholders, including exporters, importers, customs agents, among others. The Area Controller, Comptroller Dalhatu Abubakar, has said that, the 4% FOB collection was temporarily suspended because the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) contract with the service providers has been terminated. Comptroller Abubakar made the statement during a sensitization of importersand stakeholders on the collection of 4% free collection on board, organized by Nigeria customs service Kano/jigawa command which took place on Wednesday. He explained that, Nigeria customs service will begin to collect the 4% FOB by itself once the suspension is lifted.
