NCS KANO/JIGAWA COMMAND DEBUNKED A SOCIAL MEDIA REPORT.





The kano/jigawa command of nigeria customs service, has debunked a social media report that the command is not pre-active in preventing smuggling in these borders.

Speaking with Newsmen in Kano, the Area Controller, Compt. S.P Umar described the report which published on hausa online newspaper "GASKIYA TAFI KOBO" as untrue that lacks professional tauch.

He said the publication is one of the many attempts by quack Journalists to smear the command.

Comptroller Umar said the command under the present administration is more committed and determined in preventing smuggling in and outside the country.

He called on serious Journalists to always verify their facts before publication.

Taraba Correspondents' Chapel calls for the removal of Commissioner of Information, Zainab, boycott govt's activities

The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Taraba state chapter, has passed a vote of no confidence in the state Commissioner for information and re-orientation, Barr. Zainab Usman Jalingo. In an emergency Congress meeting held at the chapel Secretariat in Jalingo, the union also resolved to boycott all Taraba state government activities henceforth. In the Congress resolution signed by the Resolution Drafting Committee chairman Mr Charles Akpeji, the union decried what they described as a neglect of journalists and the profession, sighting the commissioner's deliberate and continued sidelining of the press during major state functions.
