KANO UNIVERSITY VC BAGS MEDIA AWARD AS "ICON OF HOPE".




Vice Chancellor Kano University of science and technology Wudil, Bags Arewa Media Practitioners award as Icon of Hope.

The Vice Chancellor Professor Shehu Alhaji Musa was recognized because of his immeasurable achievements in the university.

Presenting the award, the National president of the Arewa Media Practitioners Comrade Musa Mohammed said the award was based on the recommendation of the award selection committee that presented his name for the transformation of the university.

The National President said Prof. Shehu Alhaji Musa has proven that he understands the meaning of Education and the way it works.

He said the Vice Chancellor is in his element as a thorough bred educationist and a true academician.

“The Vice Chancellor displayed high level skills in brinkmanship. Personally, impressed with his style from his first tenure to date".

"He looks quiet but very deep. He is a fantastic listener, soft spoken and a humble man”.





Responding, the Vice Chancellor, expressed his appreciation and described the award as encouraging and moral booster.

He expressed hope that mutual understanding between the university and the Arewa Media Practitioners will be enhanced.

The Vice Chancellor however, disclosed some of the achievements recorded during his tenure which include accreditation of 21 courses out of 22, building of 4 faculties, signing of MOU on sciences with Egypt, China and Russia universities to a few.

Training and promotion of staff/ lecturers to PhD and masters degree level, purchase of over 250,000 computers for the development of science education.

Prof. Alhaji Musa commended the kano state government for providing adequate support and logistics, in addition to recruiting teachers on sensitive area of the university.

The Vice Chancellor also commended the Chancellor of the kano university of science and technology, Alhaji Aliko Dangote for the giant projects he made so far in the institution.

He said Dangote have done what no other Nigerian has done since 1948 when the first university was founded. 

He described Dangote’s generosity as unprecedented, especially his support for education.

"Dangote would forever remain dear to our University" he added.
