THE PRESS STATEMENT BY THE NIGERIA UNION OF JOURNALISTS (NUJ) KADUNA STATE COUNCIL ON AN ALLEGE THREAT TO LIFE OF KADUNA VANGUARD CORRESPONDENT BY GOVERNOR-ELECT IS FALSE - BABBAR HARKA

The Chairman and CEO Babbar Harka Resources and Global Links, Alhaji Nasiru Shuaibu Babbar Harka has said that he was embarrassed reading a frivolous, mischievous, false and highly embarrassing press statement issued by the nigeria union of journalists (NUJ) kaduna state council, that "The attention of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, has been drawn to a letter of complaint by our member who is the State correspondent of the Vanguard Newspapers, Mallam Hassan Mahmoud over an alleged threat to his life by the Governor-elect of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani at purported media briefing in Kaduna on Sunday, March 26, 2023".

The Kaduna State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has denied allegations by Hassan Ibrahim Wuyo, a Vanguard newspaper reporter, that Kaduna State Governor-elect Uba Sani had threatened him.

Babbar Harka said that he made his findings which revealed that the vanguard correspondent only misinterpreted simple advice to all journalists by Uba Sani.

The governor elect, only offered an advisory to all media practitioners, to verify their reports before publishing, while reminding the media of the volatile nature of Kaduna State and the need for the media to sustain the fragile peace, rather than set the state on fire through their reportage.

The Vanguard correspondent misinterpreted to mean personal attack or threat on his person.

Therefore, the public should disregard the information which is totally incorrect.
