You will recall that our own Major General Godwin George Umo (Rtd) was appointed Nigeria's Ambassador to the Holy See, Vatican. He will be conferred with an Honorary doctorate degree by Prowess University, Delaware, USA. This award is in addition to being honoured with an African Award for Integrity, Transparency, Accountability in African Leadership.

He, with one other Ambassador, will be so honoured.

During the occasion, Prowess University, Delaware, USA, and Triune Biblical University Global Extension, New York, USA, will use the platform to honour a few eminent professionals, across the country, for the enormous contributions in their various leadership positions.

Professor Buba Mshelia, Advisory Board Chairman of Leadtimes Africa Magazine, in a press statement, opined thus "selected Nigerians who have excelled in their professional careers will be recognized with the prestigious Leadtimes Africa Award for Integrity, Accountability and Transparency in African Leadership, aside the Honorary doctorate award, during the occasion.

This is to spur them for excellence in quality service delivery"
Professor Prince Eze Nwauba, African Representative of Prowess University will conduct the investitures. Besides General Umo, the other Ambassador to be so honoured is the immediate past Nigeria's Ambassador to Spain, Her Excellency, Ambassador Susan Folarin.

The event, expected to hold at the Lagos University late April, is focused on entrepreneurial development and is themed "Enhancing Accelerated Capacity Building Through Entrepreneurship in Governance: Pathway to Sustainable Growth and Development in Nigeria"

The programme is packaged and anchored by Leadtimes Africa Magazine. The programme will also feature a workshop on Strategic Leadership on Good Governance.

Press Release  Driving Schools Unite Under DSAN-Kano in Kano State.  A significant milestone was achieved in the driving school sector in Kano State with the unanimous adoption of the Driving School Association of Nigeria (DSAN) - Kano.  This development follows a meeting of all proprietors of driving schools in the state, convened at Sayyara Driving School.The meeting, which took place on 10th August, 2025 at 2:00 pm, saw the participation of proprietors who collectively agreed to migrate their membership from different associations to DSAN.  This move is aimed at enhancing collaboration, standardizing driving instruction, and promoting road safety in the state.During the meeting, a new management team was elected to lead the association and oversee its activities. Taraba Correspondents' Chapel calls for the removal of Commissioner of Information, Zainab, boycott govt's activities

The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Taraba state chapter, has passed a vote of no confidence in the state Commissioner for information and re-orientation, Barr. Zainab Usman Jalingo. In an emergency Congress meeting held at the chapel Secretariat in Jalingo, the union also resolved to boycott all Taraba state government activities henceforth. In the Congress resolution signed by the Resolution Drafting Committee chairman Mr Charles Akpeji, the union decried what they described as a neglect of journalists and the profession, sighting the commissioner's deliberate and continued sidelining of the press during major state functions.
