TWO FORMER AMBASSADORS, OBAYENDO, OLANREWAJU, KOLE, OTHERS BAG HONORARY AWARD

Prominent Nigerians including two former Nigerian ambassadors to Rome(Vatican) and Spain,Major General/ Amb. Godwin George UMO (rtd) and Amb.Chief Dr Mrs Susan Aderonke Folarin, former Nigerian envoy to Spain and former Chairman of Ogun State Civil Service Commission are expected to grace this epic occasion as Special guests while the National president of Chartered Institute of Transport Administration and Group Managing Director/CEO of Temple Group, Prince Segun Ochuko Obayendo; the CEO of Tasty Times Nigeria Limited,Mr Isaac Olugbenga Kole;and Mr Olanrewaju Idowu of Lekki Free Zone Development Company are among the honorary doctorate degree award winners of Prowess University, Delaware,USA and Triune Biblical University Global Extension New York,USA respectively.

The managing Director/CEO of Budget Homes Properties Limited, Ohio Flourish Ebozafe and Amb. Mrs Funke Kehinde, founder/CEO of Brilliants Concepts are expected at the ceremony as honorary doctorate degree awardees in Business Administration and Real Estate Development respectively.

Also in the list is the managing director of Ashaka Cement Plc Alhaji Ibrahim Aminu and Chimezie Henry Ebulofor, the managing director/ CEO of Henry Montego Homes;and the Group Executive director of Chi Limited Mr Jerome O. Shogbon,among others.

The theme of this year's edition is titled: Enhancing Accelerated Capacity Building Through Entrepreneurship in Governance -pathway to Sustainable growth and Development in Nigeria and is
  expected to hold in the last week of April this year at the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

The program which is packaged and anchored by Leadtimes Africa Magazine would feature with its annual award presentation ceremony/ workshop on Strategic Leadership on good Governance in African Leadership.

At the occasion, prowess University, Deleware USA and  Triune Biblical University Global Extension New York, USA will use the platform to honor few eminent Nigerian professionals across the country for their enormous contributions in their various leadership positions.
Professor Buba S. Mshelia, Advisory Board chairman of Leadtimes Africa Magazine in a press statement opined thus:

Durojaiye, President of Triune Biblical University Global Extension, New-York, USA in a press statement posited thus:"in this year's edition, two US universities will honor outstanding Nigerians with track records in leadership and professionalism.

Selection of these awardees is built on transparency, 
accountability and integrity and more especially the impacts made on their local communities is part of the indices used for selection including recommendation  from their constituents", among other parameters.

Other prominent honorary doctorate award nominees include the managing director/CEO of Flourish Global Properties, Pamela Allen;Ugo Elizabeth, CEO of Lead Homes Luxury Apartment and Mr Charles N.Mba, managing director/CEO of CDV Properties and Development are expected to bag honorary doctorate degrees in Real Estate Development and Business Administration respectively at the occasion. Hybrid Group CEO, Dapo Omolade and DIG Udom Ekpoudom, proprietor of TopFaith Schools, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State will be honoured at the occasion in the University of Lagos later this month, among others.

It will be recalled that outstanding personalities in leadership cycle across Nigeria have been nominated for the conferment of honorary doctorate degree award in various categories and the program is billed for the University of Lagos guest house come April. 
Also included as Special guest is Amb. Dr Mohammed  Jibril Ahmed, Chairman/CEO of Shelter Construction Co. Limited. Professor Basil C. Nwankwo of the Kogi state University, Anyigba, is expected to serve as guest lecturer at the occasion.  

Selected professionals, technocrats, captains of Industries, traditional ruler's, NGOs, credible politicians among others are expected to participate in the event. 

 Other nominees for the honorary doctorate degree award during the summit include the Managing director of Ist Properties Hub Limited, Franklin Igbochuba and Engr Simeon Alabi, Managing director/CEO of PRODECO Engineering Services Limited; Managing Director/CEO of Lifecard International Investment Company, Grace Ofure Ibhakhomu;Managing director of Edo state Investment Promotion office, Kelvin Uwaibi;Mrs Busola Komolafe, General Manager of Cloudsa Africa;and Managing director of BUA Sugar Refinery Limited, Alhaji Ibrahim A. yaro. Also listed for honorary doctorate degree award are Mr Felix Onwuchekwa Nwabuoku, Managing director/CEO of PRESCO PLC;founder/CEO of Osayuwamen Saleh Foundation (OSFI),Osayuwamen Peace Saleh;Tope Mark Odigie of TVC and Nancy Isime who  are expected to bag honorary doctorate degrees award in Arts and Philosophy, among few others. 

In addition to the honorary doctorate award conferment, three eminent Nigerians are listed for professorial chairs of the  Prowess University, Delaware,USA and Triune BIBLICAL University Global Extension,New York, USA in different disciplines and will be decorated at the ceremony.

The summit on good Governance will be preceded by the award ceremony. In our last edition, some eminent Nigerians were honoured  as
 honorary doctorate awardees of Prowess University, Delaware, USA. They Included Her Excellency Amb. Dr Mrs Olufolake Abdulrazaq, First Lady,Kwara State who bagged the Prowess University honorary doctorate in Public Policy and Administration;Chief Mike A. A. Ozekhome(SAN), a renowned constitutional  lawyer and Human Rights Activist who bagged honorary doctorate in International Law and Diplomacy;Barrister Alecander Utieyin- Scott a renowned Barrister and Solicitor bagged honorary doctorate degree in International Law and Diplomacy as Engr Lara Sarat Braimah of National Inland Waterways Authority  was honoured with honorary doctor of philosophy in Science while Engr Obinna Azonobi; Remi Olukoya; Isaac Chukwudi Ndupuechi were all honoured in Business Administration,among others.

Press Release  Driving Schools Unite Under DSAN-Kano in Kano State.  A significant milestone was achieved in the driving school sector in Kano State with the unanimous adoption of the Driving School Association of Nigeria (DSAN) - Kano.  This development follows a meeting of all proprietors of driving schools in the state, convened at Sayyara Driving School.The meeting, which took place on 10th August, 2025 at 2:00 pm, saw the participation of proprietors who collectively agreed to migrate their membership from different associations to DSAN.  This move is aimed at enhancing collaboration, standardizing driving instruction, and promoting road safety in the state.During the meeting, a new management team was elected to lead the association and oversee its activities. Taraba Correspondents' Chapel calls for the removal of Commissioner of Information, Zainab, boycott govt's activities

The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Taraba state chapter, has passed a vote of no confidence in the state Commissioner for information and re-orientation, Barr. Zainab Usman Jalingo. In an emergency Congress meeting held at the chapel Secretariat in Jalingo, the union also resolved to boycott all Taraba state government activities henceforth. In the Congress resolution signed by the Resolution Drafting Committee chairman Mr Charles Akpeji, the union decried what they described as a neglect of journalists and the profession, sighting the commissioner's deliberate and continued sidelining of the press during major state functions.
