Jigawa: Rescuing Tsadawa Village


Community of Tsadawa Village in Taura Local Government, Jigawa State has call and appeal to Governor Namadi Modi to come to their aid by rescuing the village from total collapse by providing basic social amenities to them. That  the Government of former governor Saminu Turaki who ruled the state almost two dacades ago made efforts to link up the village with electricity but to no avail. The contractor handling the project have supplied concrete poles but without anybody to find at the site till now. The poles and other facilities were dumped even decaying
That his successors have refused to look into the plight of Tsadawa people by continue with the electricity work or other projects that will transform the livelihood of Tsadawa people. The immediate past Governor Badaru Abubakar has also make effort to continue with the electricity project. They have even provided transformer to the village but dumped it without doing any work. 

This paper has interviewed prominent people in Tsadawa village which include the village head, Alhaji Jibrin Akilu who also testified to the backwardness of their village in getting basic social amenities. He stated that the village is one of the oldest in Jigawa which have gave birth to many villages and town that have developed and modernized to cities. That Tsadawa village is well known in farming and cattle rearing as well as highly learned islamic clerics whose provide teachings of Quran and other Islamic studies. The village also has a vast and fertile land as well as abundant mineral resources which if the government utililised would be source of generating revenue. 

Another community leaders that were interviewed and throw more light on the existence of Tsadawa village includes Alhaji Yunusa Kata, Mai Unguwa Ashiru, Chief Imam Malam Yusuf, Malam Garba Danladi among others, says Tsadawa has been in existence for over 200 years and it has given birth to many communities under Ringim, Taura, Garki Local government. They also implore the government to come to their aid by providing social amenities such as schools, water, electricity,   Road networks of 2 kilometers that link Tsadawa village to the main federal government road. 

Other community leaders that were interviewed are Malam Usman Hamza and Ya'u Sarkin Aska. They also call and appeal to Governor Namadi Modi, House of Reps, Senate and all political office holders to rescue Tsadawa village by providing social amenities to them because the village lack mostly all federal, state and local government developmental projects.
