Kano: Upper Shariah Court Judge Accused of Highhandedness, Intimidation, Corruption, nepotism in his court.

The Goron Dutse upper Shariah Court Judge, in Kano State, Kadi Salisu Koki (Sarkin Agalawa), have been accused of alleged Highhandedness, Intimidation, Corruption, nepotism
 favouritism in his court.

A kano resident said he had suffered in the hands of the Upper Shariah Court judge Salisu Sarkin Agalawa in the past, chided him.

He always used his position to intimidate people

Speaking with MOONLIHGTNEWS, an elderly man who spoke on condition of anonymity, for fear of victimisation by the shariah court judge, said the court situated at Goron Dutse kano was being run like a private firm.

According to the source, many people that have case in the court are always in perpetual fear because they are allegedly treated like slaves by the judge.

"The upper Shariah Court has not had it so bad like this since its establishment. Since the appointment of Salisu Koki Sarkin Agalawa as the Judge, corruption, intimidation, nepotism, hatred, oppression, highhandedness, etc have become a daily affair in the court.

The common people or the less privileged suffer the most in his hands.

Some staff of the upper Shariah Court, who for security reasons, according to them, spoke on condition of anonymity, also accused the judge of incompetence, nepotism, and highhandedness

The leadership of the judiciary in Kano state are duty bound to change the judge Salisu Koki sarkin Agalawa for the good of the legal profession and health of democracy.

If care is not taking, the situation in Goron Dutse upper Shariah Court would jeopardise timely and quality justice delivery.

His appointment as judge upper shariah court undermined merit and integrity.

Appointing Sarkin Agalawa ( a mediocre) into such a revered profession meant no good for the country.

“Most of the time, Sarkin Agalawa, the upper Shariah Court judge don’t even sit early. He will come to court by 11 a.m. without minding how long people have been waiting. By 1p.m., he is rising, leaving all the jobs on the table, while giving a new date for the next sitting. The implication is that the justice industry and justice delivery have been burdened.

“When he come to court, his attitude is that of the elites. Most of the time he go to the extent of seeking vengeance with whoever tries to go against his empire or his various business interests”.

Judiciary was believed to be the last hope of the common man.

“The Kano state Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the leadership of the judiciary in the state to sit up, if not, very soon, the judiciary will no longer be the last hope of the common man”.

And it will not end until there is a collective effort to clear the Augean stable, concerned stakeholders.

Efforts to reach the Kadi Salisu Koki probe abortive.
