BREAKING : Matawalle Welcomes Gov Dauda Lawal of Zamfara state to the All Progressives Congress, APC.


The Minister of state for defence, and the immediate past Gov of Zamfara state Hon Bello Matawallen Maradun, today Saturday June 7th 2025 welcomes Zamfara state Governor Dauda Lawal to the All Progressives Congress APC.
The Minister made the call today at his residence in his hometown Maradun, while receiving thousands of his supporters who paid him a sallah homage. Matawalle who was the immediate past governor of the state said his Party, the APC is a party of leaders with humility and respect, and advised Dauda Lawal to join the Progressives for progress in the state.
The minister said instead of the Gov trying to sneak into the party, the Gov should come out in the open to follow the proper channel to join the party rather than hide-and-seek type of game the Gov is currently playing in joining the party. 
He said he has no any grudges for the Gov to join the party and therefore urged Lawal to embrace the party to join the trailblaisers of security,  progress, developments, peace and tranquility.
He said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as a progressives leader is a good manager of peace and tranquility and is always focusing on the development of the country and welcomes all wishing to join the trailblaisers of peace, harmony growth and development.
Dr Bello Matawalle assured his teeming supporters of his commitment to their welfare and wellbeing and urged them to continue to support the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the realisation of its Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the areas of security, agriculture, health, social wellbeing and economic development.

He said the President has Zamfara at heart and is always looking forward to salvaging its current situation of insecurity and economic hardship and called on the people of the state to give their maximum support and cooperation to this laudable desire of Mr President.
The Minister of state for defence recalled the efforts by the Tinubu administration of eliminating several terrorists Kinpins and their foot soldiers who were hitherto terrorising the state, the region and the county in general. He said the President has recently ordered the security operatives to bring to an end, the spate of insecurity in northern Nigeria before the end of the year and the the ministry of defence and the security high commands are tirelessly working out modalities and method aperandi to ensure compliance with the Presidential directives. 
He however, accused Zamfara state government of not doing very well in terms of fighting banditry in the state, instead, ventured into deceiving the people.
He said during his time as the Gov of the state, people enjoyed and witnessed rapid and meticulous clamping down on security, freedom, welfare and social wellbeing of the people of state, unlike the current happening under Lawal’s administration in the state, where people, including members of the PDP are grumbling of the type of leadership in the state.
The former governor who regretted little resources during tenure, where only about 3 to 4 billion were coming to the state treasury, unlike what the present Gov under Lawal’s administration which receives between 19 to 24 billion naira monthly from federal cash allocation. He therefore challenges Gov Dauda Lawal to disclose the amount of money he is receiving monthly, to justify the development projects he is claiming to have executed so far in the state.
