2027 Polls: Analyst Says Sadiq Mamman Lagos Key to APC’s Chances in Kaduna

*KADUNA* – With the 2027 general elections approaching, the All Progressives Congress (APC) must address declining public confidence and internal rifts in Kaduna State, according to political commentator Comrade Musa Mohammed Moonlight.

In a statement issued on Monday, Moonlight said the ruling party has “lost members and popularity,” citing insecurity, economic hardship, and the high cost of living as factors eroding voter trust. He added that several aggrieved members and supporters have left the party.

“There's also a stand-off among APC stakeholders across Kaduna State,” Moonlight said.

He, however, credited Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, a Kaduna-based politician, with efforts to unify the party. According to Moonlight, Lagos has reconciled warring party stakeholders and persuaded “a significant number of aggrieved members” who had previously left to return to the APC.

“Even those who previously vowed not to vote for the APC are now expressing renewed hope because of his interventions,” Moonlight said. He added that beneficiaries of Lagos’ welfare programs have “testified to his generosity and commitment to their well-being.”

Moonlight described Lagos as “widely regarded as one of the most respected political figures in Kaduna State” and said his philanthropy and grassroots engagement have helped rebuild party cohesion.

He called on President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani to recognize Lagos as “a key asset” for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.

“With his decades of experience, political influence, grassroots structure, and strategic approach, the APC stands a strong chance of winning in Kaduna,” Moonlight said.

“I have personally witnessed what he has achieved in the past, what he is currently doing, and the plans he is putting in place ahead of 2027,” he added.
