KADUNA JAAC: 23 LG CHAIRMEN APPROVE GROUP LIFE INSURANCE PREMIUM FOR LG STAFF: Move Hailed as Boost for Workers’ Welfare Under Gov Uba Sani’s Administration

Kaduna, June 2026 – The 23 Local Government Council Chairmen in Kaduna State have unanimously approved the payment of Group Life Insurance premium for all local government staff in the state.

The decision was taken during the Joint Allocation Accounts Committee {JAAC} meeting after a presentation by the Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Pension Bureau, on the importance of the Scheme and the need to comply with statutory provisions protecting employees and their families.

The Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs commended the Chairmen for their commitment to workers’ welfare, describing the approval as “a demonstration of responsible leadership.”

He stressed that the administration of Governor Uba Sani remains steadfast in strengthening social protection and improving welfare, security, and productivity of public servants across Kaduna State.

The Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Pension Bureau, thanked the Commissioner and the 23 LG Chairmen for the prompt approval. He noted that the Group Life Insurance Scheme is a critical safety net that provides financial protection to families of employees who die in active service.

The Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the welfare, security, and productivity of local government employees.
