Kano: Upper Shariah Court Judge Accused of Highhandedness, Intimidation, Corruption, nepotism in his court.

The Goron Dutse upper Shariah Court Judge, in Kano State, Kadi Salisu Koki (Sarkin Agalawa), have been accused of alleged Highhandedness, Intimidation, Corruption, nepotism   favouritism in his court.   A kano resident said he had suffered in the hands of the Upper Shariah Court judge Salisu Sarkin Agalawa in the past, chided him. He always used his position to intimidate people Speaking with MOONLIHGTNEWS, an elderly man who spoke on condition of anonymity, for fear of victimisation by the shariah court judge, said the court situated at Goron Dutse kano was being run like a private firm.  According to the source, many people that have case in the court are always in perpetual fear because they are allegedly treated like slaves by the judge. Community of Tsadawa Village in Taura Local Government, Jigawa State has call and appeal to Governor Namadi Modi to come to their aid by rescuing the village from total collapse by providing basic social amenities to them. That  the Government of former governor Saminu Turaki who ruled the state almost two dacades ago made efforts to link up the village with electricity but to no avail. The Governing Council of Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) has approved the appointment of Prof. Auwal Kasim of the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, as new Provost of the Institute.  The appointment, which was contained in a letter dated 28th December, 2023 and signed by the Registrar of the Institute, Air Commodore Mohammed Sheriff Lawal, followed Prof. Kasim’s success at the interview for the top job.  The appointment, which is for a single non-renewable tenure of five years, is in line with the Provisions of the Institute’s Laws and Regulations governing the conditions of service for academic staff.  Prof. Kasim’s appointment is with effect from 8th January, 2024. Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, has  through his Foundation  distributed food and other personal care items worth millions of Naira to orphanage homes and other vulnerable communities in the State to mark his 53rh birthday which falls on December 31st. The distributed items include hundreds bags of parboiled rice, Indomie noodles, cartons of cooking oil, seasonings, soap, pomade, toilet tissue papers, and sanitary pads for women. Presenting the food items to the orphanage homes, the Executive Director of Uba Sani Foundation, Mallam Ibrahim Dan-Halilu said the donation was the fifth in series since the birth of the foundation in 2018.
